With soulful melodies embedded in the polyrhythm of Africa, dub Addis hails from the horn of Africa, Ethiopia. Led by singer-songwriter Dereje Tesfaye, dub Addis has been performing Roots Reggae and traditional Ethiopian rhythms,Which creates a unique sound that is both modern and ancient, for the last decade. Currently dub Addis features Jae Fields on keyboard and trumpet,, Ricky Powell on trumpet, Ken Joseph on drums and Justin "JC" Martin on guitar Dean Erwin on Bass Guitar and Dereje Tesfaye on Lead vocal and keys.
dub Addis' philosophy:
We feel that whatever your labors and aspirations in this noisy confusion of life, one must keep peace in his/her soul. We must take kindly to the council of our elders. The wisdom we get from them, combined with the new generation's ideas, we can resolve tribalism/nationalism, sexism and racism.
